Elderly Man Killed in Cherokee County Three-Vehicle Collision

A 72-old-man was killed in a three-vehicle collision on Tuesday, May 18th, in Cherokee County. The crash happened on OK-82 and Horseshoe Bend Road, just south of Tahlequah.

David Tharp, of Tahlequah, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim.

A passenger in Tharp’s car sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital. The drivers of the other two vehicles are in good condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
