Biography

Alisha Hounslow grew up in rural southwest Oklahoma and has always had a desire to help people. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Science degree in Zoology-Biomedical Sciences. While earning her degree, she worked for both OU and the Cleveland County District Attorney’s child support division. After graduation, she began working full-time for the DA’s Office in their criminal records division as a Legal Assistant. Alisha worked for five years for multiple assistant district attorneys and her job duties included filing charges, motions, and extraditions.

In 2012, Alisha left the DA’s Office to work for the Law Office of Matt Swain. She managed the office and was also an assistant to a family law attorney, where she filed adoptions, divorces, and other family law case work. Alisha left the law office when she had the opportunity to work for the Oklahoma State Department of Health in 2014 where began her public health career as a Public Health Specialist in Cleveland County. As a PHS, she was responsible for a multitude of duties including conducting thousands of health inspections, working with restaurants and epidemiologists during foodborne illness outbreaks, facilitating rabies investigations, including testifying in District Court as an expert witness, and teaching hundreds of food safety courses.
However, ten years after obtaining her undergrad degree, Alisha decided to return to her first love of law. During her time at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Alisha participated three semesters in the OU Legal Clinic, practicing both criminal and civil law under the supervision of professors. She was named the co-recipient of the Cindy Foley Award for outstanding legal clinic student. She also found time to intern at the Cleveland County DA’s Office and with the Swain Law Group, who subsequently hired her upon graduation.

Alisha is the utility player of the office, practicing all areas of law across the state, including criminal, family, and civil law. She also has experience with guardianships, expungements, and probate cases. She recognizes that needing legal representation can occur at a fragile time in people’s lives and works hard to assist them with navigating the complex legal system while also trying to ensure the best possible outcome for her clients.

Alisha currently lives in Norman with her family, loves sports, and her cats. She enjoys attending OU athletic events and participating in her children’s extracurricular and school activities. She also loves to work with various community partners and supports local charities and events.
