A Byars resident was killed on the evening of January 7th in a head-on collision in southeast McClain County. The crash occurred on US-177 and County Road 1490, 3.4 miles north of Stratford.
According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Tracy Wall, 59 years old, was traveling southbound when he crossed the centerline and hit a truck driven by John Grundann, a 69-year-old of Shawnee.
Reports stated Wall was trapped inside his vehicle until firefighters were able to pull him from the wreckage. Sadly, Wall was pronounced dead at the scene. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim.
Grundann was transported to Norman Regional Hospital in stable condition and was treated for leg and trunk injuries.
