Two Aline Residents Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash

A single-vehicle crash resulted in two injured on Tuesday, February 16th. The accident happened on U.S. 412, west of Enid.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 83-year-old Larry Eugene Shelite and passenger, 85-year-old Earline Shelite, were traveling eastbound on U.S. 412 when Larry veered off the roadway and into the center median. The vehicle then went down an embankment and hit a tree on the driver’s side.

Both Larry and Earline were transported to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. Larry was treated for his injuries and released. Earline was admitted in critical condition for head and trunk injuries.

According to the OHP, the condition of the driver is under investigation. The cause of the accident has been listed as “possible medical condition.”

Authorities reported the road was dry at the time of the crash, and seatbelts were not in use.
