And accident occurred Monday, August 2 on the Muskogee Turnpike in Coweta, Oklahoma.
The crash occurred when one vehicle veered off the road way, hitting a cable guardrail, and coming to a stop in the middle of the turnpike.
According to troopers at this point a second vehicle hit the first and went off the side of the road.
A man from the first vehicle and a woman from the second vehicle were both pronounced dead at the scene,
One person was sent to the hospital.
Troopers believe it is possible a couple of other vehicles involved may have struck some debris, but are unaware of what was struck.
The roadway is now clear and the turnpike has reopened.
