On Monday, July 26th a wreck occurred in the morning on Northeast Trail Road and OK-17.
Reports indicate two vehicles hit head-on after one driver driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic.
The sterling Assistant Fire Chief, Thomas Morse, was pinned in his vehicle according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Morse had to be freed using the Elgin Fire Departments Jaws of Life.
Morse was then flown to the OU Medical center and was listed in critical condition.
The other person involved in the crash was treated and released with leg injuries.
