Double Fatal Crash Between Car and Farm Implement Kills 2 Near Afton, Oklahoma

A car crash occurred Monday, July 5th just before 12:00 p.m.. The crash took place at 200 Road at 500 Road near Afton, Oklahoma.

A 2016 Ford Explorer collided with with a farm implement, a 2021 GVM Prowler. GVM’s are not licensed for travel but are allowed on roadways. The driver of the GVM, Paul Pierce, age 46, of Welch, Oklahoma, was uninjured from the crash.

The three individuals in the Ford were pinned under the vehicle for 45 minutes and rescued by the Afton fire department. Two of the individuals, Douglas Goodner, age 48, of Skiatook and  William McWhirt, age 59, of Sand Springs, were pronounced dead/died at the scene. The third individual Michael Worthy, age 48, of Tulsa had to be airlifted by Air Evac to Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Missouri in fair condition.

There is little information on the cause(s) of the crash at this time.
