A wrong-way driver was killed in a head-on collision on Thursday, April 29th, on the Muskogee Turnpike. The crash happened near the Broken Arrow Expressway intersection.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 1999 Ford Explorer was traveling the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of the Muskogee Turnpike. The Explorer struck an oncoming Subaru head-on, pinning the driver of the Explorer in the vehicle and causing it to catch fire. Sadly, the driver of the Explorer was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Subaru sustained injuries in the accident and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
A car and a semi-truck crashed into the collided vehicles. Thankfully, neither driver was injured.
