One person was killed and nine others were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Tuesday, May 11th, in Del City. The crash happened on Northeast 10th Street, between Sooner Road and Vickie Drive.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 33-year-old Ricky Scott was driving at a dangerous rate of speed on Northeast 10th Street when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed the centerline and struck a Chevrolet Camaro driven by 26-year-old Keirie Moreiro with three passengers. The impact caused the Camaro to hit a Chevrolet Silverado driven by 58-year-old Curt Washington.
Scott’s car then hit a Ford Explorer driven by 37-year-old Yomichi Kincho, with three passengers. Scott was ejected from his vehicle, while his car hit a Cadillac driven by 51-year-old Jacquelyn Williams and a Hyundai driven by 37-year-old Nikki Grahm.
Sadly, Scott was pronounced dead at the scene. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Several of the other drivers and passengers were injured in the accident. Moreiro sustained head and neck injuries. The three passengers in Moreiro’s vehicle, including two juvenile boys, were treated for minor injuries and released.
Drivers Washington and Kincho were also treated and released. However, two passengers in Kincho’s vehicle sustained more serious injuries. Erman Martin, 66, was treated for head, neck, and arm injuries. Erlina Martin, 29, was also treated for head and neck injuries. A two-year-old boy in Kincho’s vehicle was also treated and released.
Neither Williams, nor Grahm, were injured in the collision.
