A tire blowout in Logan County caused a deadly head-on collision on Sunday, April 25th. The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Highway 74, just west of Guthrie.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a 1991 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling northbound on Highway 74 when the front tire blew out. The driver lost control and crossed the centerline, crashing head-on into a 2020 Nissan Versa.

Sadly, a passenger in the Nissan, 58-year-old Virginia Hill, died as a result of her injuries. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim.

Did you know in 2019 there were 50 fatal and injury accidents in Logan County (Guthrie, Crescent, Langston)? Of the total 51 people injured, sadly nine died as a result of their injuries.
