Tahlequah Motorcyclist Killed in Collision

A Tahlequah motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a vehicle on Friday, March 26th, at approximately 2:10 p.m. The crash happened at Oklahoma 82 and North Elm Grove Road, approximately 3.8 miles north of Tahlequah.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Boyd Christie, 56, was traveling westbound on Oklahoma 82 on a Harley-Davidson when 22-year-old Sidney Hair failed to stop at a stop sign on Elm Grove Road. As a result, Christie crashed into the vehicle and was thrown into a ditch.

Sadly, Christie was pronounced dead at the scene. Hair was transported to Saint John Medical Center in Tulsa, reportedly in stable condition.

Did you know in 2019 there were 88 fatal and injury accidents in Cherokee County (Tahlequah, Fort Gibson, Hulbert)? Of the total 117 people injured, sadly nine died as a result of their injuries.
