Fatal Hit-and-Run Results in One Woman Dead in Cherokee County

A 24-year-old woman on a bicycle was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash on Thursday, March 18th, around 10 p.m. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the crash in Cherokee County at U.S. Highway 62 on South 460 Road, approximately three miles west of Tahlequah.

According to authorities, Jacklyn Dobson was on her bike, attempting to cross Highway 62 on South 460 Road when she was hit by an unknown driver in a light-colored car.

Dobson was flown to a Tulsa hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. The OHP is continuing to search for the driver of the vehicle.
