Fatal Collision Near Vinita Leaves One Man Dead

A Claremore man died following a collision with a semi-truck on Sunday, February 21st, at approximately 11:47 p.m. The crash happened on OK-2, five miles north of Vinita.

Sadly, the driver of the passenger vehicle, 35-year-old Patrick Heussmann of Claremore, was pronounced dead at the scene. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim.

The driver of the semi-truck, 68-year-old Raymond Hitchcock, of Greeley, Colorado, sustained critical injuries and was transferred to a Tulsa hospital.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
