An auto accident occurred on Saturday, January 30th, around 3:10 p.m. The collision was located at the intersection of County Road Mile 33 and County Road V, approximately one mile east of Guymon.

According to authorities, 22-year-old Samuel T. Mehari, of Guymon, was traveling west on County Road V, failed to stop at a stop sign, and hit 22-year-old Antony Alexis Castillo, also of Guymon. The collision caused both vehicles to veer off the road, with Castillo’s overturning and landing on the driver side.

Castillo was transported to Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas, and then flown to a hospital in Amarillo, Texas. Castillo was treated for head and internal trunk injuries.

Mehari declined medical treatment. However, his passenger, 20-year-old Ksanet Mehari was transported to Memorial Hospital of Texas County to be treated for head and internal trunk injuries.
