The Cleveland County District Attorney’s office charged five men this week with lewd proposals to a child under 16 after a multi-agency task force operation.

Cleveland County prosecutors allege Brayan Alvarado Vicente, 22; Devin Christian Clanton, 27; and Joshua Paul Ferguson, 38, communicated with someone the defendants thought were 15-year-old girls.  Task force members also arrested Luther man Christopher Travis Wells, 27, and Chandramouli Divanapu, 34, of Boca Raton, Fla.

The defendants used apps such as MeetMe, PlentyOfFish and Google Voice to make contact with the girls, according to law enforcement affidavits.

Over the past year more and more of these types of cases have been filed by prosecutors in Cleveland County.  If you or someone you know is facing an allegation of Unlawful Communication with a Minor, Lewd Proposals to a Child, or a similar sex crime allegation, call the attorneys at the Swain Law Group.
