Tom Hamilton

Tom is beginning a second career after spending over 24 years in the United States Air Force. He served for 9 years in the Aircraft Armament Systems career field before joining the Judge Advocate General’s Corp as a paralegal in 2005. Immediately after his military retirement, he and his family moved to Oklahoma to pursue his dream of becoming a lawyer and continuing his service to the community.

During Tom’s 15 years in the Air Force JAG Corp, he was a trial team member of over 30 courts-martial cases ranging from drug offenses, rape and sexual assaults, and child abuse. In addition, while stationed in Texas he oversaw the U.S. Federal Magistrate Court program, prosecuting civilian misconduct occurring on military bases in Federal District Court. While deployed to Afghanistan, Tom provided support to multiple investigations for contract fraud and use of force/escalation of force incidents. After his promotion to the Senior Noncommission Officer ranks, Tom both inspected Air Force legal offices world-wide for compliance with the Uniformed Code of Military Justice and provided military specific legal training to senior enlisted leaders of all Air Force career fields.

When not working or spending time with his family, he enjoys golfing and playing softball. Tom also regularly volunteers to coach/judge negotiation competition teams at the OU College of Law.
