An Oklahoma City woman accused of beating her 14 year old grandaughter chocked the girl and smashed a glass perfume bottle on her head, according to a police affidavit.

Susan Marie Tessner, 51, was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of child abuse, domestic abuse by strangulation and assault with a deadly weapon. She remains in custody on $25,000 bail.

Officers said the victim had scratches on her neck, bruising on her nose and a laceration on the back of her head after the beating.

The victim told police she was at a friend’s house and Tessner went over there about 6 p.m. Sunday and was mad for an unknown reason. Tessner began choking the girl, police were told.

Tessner grabbed the girl’s hair and pulled her out of the house where she repeatedly punched and kicked the teenager, witnesses told police.

The girl then went back home with Tessner, who police said is her legal guardian. The girl said she was then struck on the head with the perfume bottle.

The victim said she fled from the house to another family member’s home.

An Oklahoma City man faces murder and child abuse charges in connection with the death of his daughter.

Sean Devon Brooks, 31, was charged Friday in Oklahoma County District Court with first degree murder and felony child abuse. He is accused of killing Serenity Deal, 5, at a northeast Oklahoma City apartment complex where the two lived.

Serenity had multiple bruises on her body and face, the state Medical Examiner’s office reported.

Brooks told police Serenity fell to the floor with a convulsion after he helped her out of the shower.

Brooks was granted sole custody of the girl in April after Serenity’s mother was accused of molesting a 10 year old boy. Her mother, Samantha Ann Deal, 36, of Chandler is set to be sentenced July 5.

Serenity’s maternal grandmother tried to adopt the girl, according to court records.

In Yukon Ok, 4,500 a month support money from the state of Wisconsin, where they adopted the children before moving to Oklahoma.  John edward Kluth and Sonja Kluth were charged Tuesday with child abuse and neglectand are accused by prosecutors of severe abuse of their two adopted sons and adopted daughter.  They are free on bail. 

In an affidavit filed with the charges, Sonja kluth told investigators she had totally lost all control, when trying to deal with the children and had become a monster.

A 20 month old, Miami Oklahoma child died Thursday and his father is in the Ottawa  County jail on a murder complaint, according to Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.  D.J. Ray yates of Miami was arrested in connection with the death of Quinton yates.  The toddler, who had trauma wounds on his body, was dead on arrival at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami.

Brown said the boy’s mother called 911 about 2pm.  the child was taken from his home at a mobile home park outside the city’s limits north of Miami.  Brown declined to release any more information about the child’s death.  In 2007 yates was charged in Ottawa County district Court with conspiracy to commit murder.  He pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of conspiracy to commit felony in a plot to kill a Fairland teenager and was given a fiveyear deferred sentence.  He was ordered to serve a 10 year suspended sentence.
