Charge Filed In copter Shooting
Friday, January 21st, 2011The young Oklahoma city man accused of shooting at a police helicopter to impress a girlfriend is facing a federal charge. A federal grand jury Tuesday indicted Michael P. Mcmichael. He is charged with one count of damage to an aircraft and one count of discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.
He had faced a felony assault charge in Oklahoma County District Court over the helicopter shooting. State prosecutors Wednesday dropped their case so he could face the more serious federal charge.
